At Peace!

Friend, in my prayers for you, I feel led to encourage a state of peace. Naturally, there is much on our minds and many things weighing on our hearts. The world we live in is extremely loud and it constantly leaves us worrying & wondering "What if...? Should I...? When...? How should I proceed?". When you have a question in/about life, where do you go for the answer? We are a people that are rarely at peace. There are not many that are comfortable with being still. Waiting is one of the most difficult things to do in today's day and age. I ask you friend, what is it like to be at peace? Have you ever experienced God's perfect peace? Do you dwell in it?

Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
I am sure that you have had to face uncertain times, now or in the past. There is always some risk involved in any decision, but rest assured, that where God leads, His perfect peace will follow.
"God is a God of peace. Peace is a powerful signature of His work within your life. The absence of His peace is a good indicator that you need to examine your heart and allow Him to show you why His peace has been disturbed. Every work of grace that God performs on your behalf, every work of His Spirit that He does in your heart, and every revelation that comes to you from His Word will be marked by peace. Do you need to make an important decision? God's peace will be in the answer. Do you need to take a new step of faith? God's peace will move you on. Are you going through a difficult situation? God's peace will keep you steady through the storm."

Remember Friend, the life we live is not about us and what we should do, it's about God and what He has done...IS DOING! "I have been crucified with Christ; It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2:20). Focus on God and He will reveal what He would have you do. He's not in the business of keeping secrets. Ask Him in earnest, "Father, how can I best serve You? What would You have me do?" then wait patiently for the answer; let Him lead.
Peace follows God's will and you are His will. Be at peace, Dear One.

"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Oh Victory in Jesus!

I have felt very defeated recently, Friend. We have been battling an illness that has made itself at home in our lives since Dec.22nd. The lingering sickness, on top of not starting out the new year as I'd hoped, and feeling unaccomplished in my regular Motherly chores & duties, makes for a pretty run down spirit. It's been difficult to find my joy. The below excerpt was exactly what I needed to hear and I placed what really spoke to my heart in bold. I hope that you will also find comfort in it.

 "His Footsteps, My Pathway"

Jesus' Victory is Your Victory
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4

You have more going for you in Christ than what is coming against you in the world. Jesus came and destroyed the work of the Devil. Jesus crushed the enemy's kingdom under His feet. The Devil lost everything and gained nothing when Jesus died upon the cross. Jesus reigns supreme in the universe, without a rival or an equal. Jesus is your victory, your strength, your power, your authority, your peace, and your wholeness. You are triumphant in Him, and more than a conqueror as you make His footsteps your pathway.
Jesus' victory is yours on the weekdays and weekends, on cloudy days and sunny days; in every moment, in every location, in every phase of life, through every storm, through every trial, through every difficulty that you will ever face.

Courage, Friend!

"Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." Deut.31:6
"Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait,I say, on the Lord!"
Psalm 27:14
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
"Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord." Psalm 31:24

Greetings, New Year!

Happy New Year to you, dear Friend! I do hope you enjoyed your Christmas holiday and were blessed abundantly! I would like to encourage you as we begin 2012 with an excerpt from "His Footsteps, My Pathway" by Roy Lessin. These words are meaningful to me because we do not know what the future holds, but we can know and have a relationship with He who holds the future.

"Yesterday, Today and Forever the Same. Jesus Christ NEVER Changes."
Hebrews 13:8
When your life is in Jesus' hands, you are in a safe and secure place. He will not be for you one minute and against you the next; He will not be with you one moment and gone the next; He will not give you rest one day and let you struggle the next. Jesus is the promise maker, the promise giver, and the promise keeper.
Jesus is more certain than the sun in the sky and the ground that is under your feet. Jesus won't age or grow feeble; He won't become out of date or out of touch; He won't lose power or be stripped of His authority. Jesus' reign and rule are the most certain things in the universe, and your life couldn't be in better hands.
People change all the time. One day someone is in power, the next day he is out of power; one day someone makes a promise, the next day that promise is broken; one day someone is your friend, the next day that person is your enemy. Isn't it good to know that when you read the newspaper or listen to the news, you will never hear a headline that states, "There's something different to report about Jesus."
Jesus Christ never changes. Who He is, is who He was. Who He was is who He will always be.
There are no shocks or surprises in Jesus' character, in His person, or in his position. His heart is the same, His love is the same, His glory is the same, His faithfulness is the same, and His promises are the same.

"The only preparation for tomorrow is the right use of today." I don't know if you're one for resolutions, Friend, but I would encourage you to continually give thanks for the life that has been given you in Christ. Make it a priority to walk with your Creator & King. To the right, you will find a chronological list of Scripture verses and I urge you to begin even now; search through God's Word with us this year and get to know the One that calls you His beloved. The Lord has so many wonderful things in store for you this year!! He desires to richly bless you and I trust He will do just that!!

"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12
